About LGED

Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) is one of the most trusted and big organizations in Bangladesh, in planning and implementation of Rural Infrastructure Development Programs / Projects for Rural, Urban and Small Water Resources. LGED works closely with local partners to ensure public participation and bottom-up planning at all levels of project implementation cycle. The broad objective of LGED's development activities is to improve the socio-economic conditions of the country by increasing the capacity of the rural infrastructure and sharing capacity. LGED utilizes local construction materials for construction and maintenance work to ensure the cost of implementation of expected and effective project by maintaining proper quality and maintaining appropriate quality of labor-intensive technologies for creating employment at the rural level. LGED works in a broad range of diverse programs such as roads, bridges / culvert and market exchange for social mobilization, empowerment and environment conservation.
